God is everywhere. We hear it, we know it, but do we really believe and acknowledge it? In those small moments of quiet, do we take time to acknowledge that God created the small miracles in front of us like the butterfly or the small flower? Do we take time to acknowledge God created the big stuff like the Earth and the galaxy? In those moments of darkness, when we feel utterly alone, do we take time to pause and reflect and allow the knowledge that God is everywhere to really sink into our soul? If God is everywhere, then we are never truly alone. The human mind would like us to believe if we look around and don't see another physical being, we are alone. This is not the case. God is always with us. God does not abandon us. While it is nice to have other physical beings around you, just because no physical being is in your surroundings does not mean you are alone. It is at these times when you are not around other beings that it can actually be easier to feel God with you, if you allow it. In those moments of what some would call aloneness, when there is no other physical being in your presence, take a moment and pause. Breathe. Allow yourself to be in the silence. Whether that moment is filled with fear, gratitude, or awe, allow yourself to breathe into that moment. In that breath, allow yourself to feel God. Allow God to wash over you with a quiet, supportive warmth of love. Stop thinking about the fear of the what ifs or stop thinking about the gratitude or awe for whatever you were just thinking about. Be still and
be in the Divine Love and support that is there for you whenever you need it. God is there. We just have to quiet our minds briefly and allow ourselves to feel the Divine love available to us.
After you've had your moment with God, take another moment and say thank you. Thank God for allowing you to feel His love and support. Thank God for allowing you to be in the calm amongst whatever was going on in your corner of the world just before that moment. Thank God for whatever else He may have given you: the courage to move forward from where you were stuck (getting a new job or a new path for financial security, severing ties with unhealthy relationships, the strength to move forward from a major illness including depression or anxiety, etc), the removal of fear even if only temporarily, the feeling of happiness or joy even if it is brief, family, friends, whatever you've been given, even just the ability to be grateful, say thank you. Then if you have something still weighing heavily on you, ask God to give you the strength to continue to help you through it.
You have never been removed from the presence of God, you were only removed from the ability to feel it at times. You can regain the ability to feel it at any time, just by allowing yourself to truly pause and be in the moment and allow that feeling to come in. It may not be easy at times, especially during moments of conflict, fear, driving in traffic, etc, but it is doable at any moment- you just have to allow it. The more you do it, the easier it will become. Start in the moments when you are calm so in the moments when you feel surrounded by chaos, you can more easily pause, and then allow yourself to just be in God's love and support. God is always there, loving and supporting us.
